PROJECT MANAGER

 

 

Project Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of B.Eng qualification in Mechanical, Chemical or Control Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Project management qualification will be an advantage.
  • Engineers with 4 – 8 years’ experience, preferably with multi-discipline project or engineering exposure in the Chemical, Petrochemical and Energy industry.
  • Experience working/contracting with Sasol will be an advantage.
  • Experience in typical contracting formats (NEC 3 preferred).
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Valid Code B/EB driver’s license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility of managing multi-disciplinary projects assigned to him for the full life cycle of the project, which could include Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning.
  • Compile Quotations and Tenders for prospective work.
  • Develop project execution plans in line with contract requirements.
  • Develop and review overall Quality management/Control plans for projects.
  • Manage cash flow and project budget.
  • Identify and appoint all resources (including sub-contracted services) for each project.
  • Ensure coordination of all resources and functions to meet contract obligations.
  • Project Schedule Management.
  • Project Risk Management.
  • Project Quality and Safety Management during execution.
  • Follow Business Management System.
  • The effective use of MS Projects and other software systems which may be required.
  • Maintain good relationships with colleagues and clients.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Construction Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The construction manager is fully responsible for the management of the construction portion of a project and report to the project manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordination of construction activities and manage construction team and sub-contractors.
  • Assisting during the bidding process.
  • Formulation of construction method statement.
  • Develop and implement the objectives and responsibilities of the construction team members.
  • Ensure compliance to OHS Act and construction regulations.
  • Developing of safe working procedures.
  • Perform Risk assessments/ Risk management.
  • Facilitate constructability review and give input to engineering.
  • Manage and ensure compliance to quality requirements during fabrication and construction.
  • Materials management.
  • Develop schedule in conjunction with planner.
  • Ensure construction progress is effectively monitored or measured and reported.
  • Ensure contractors and sub-contractors submit daily dairy reports.
  • Assist with handover for completion of construction, punch lists and rectification of defects in cooperation with the client, and ensure compliance.

EXPERTISE & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Tertiary construction management or relevant engineering qualification with at least 5 years’ construction experience is preferred.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a recognized trade with at least 10 years’ Petrochemical experience.
  • SACPCMP registration as a Construction Manager will be an advantage.
  • Supervisory Management diploma from a reputable institute would be an advantage.
  • Must be very conversant with reading and interpreting of piping ISO’s, P&ID’s, MFD’s and associated mechanical GA drawings.
  • Good understanding of QCP’s, welding and quality procedures.

Learnership in Drawing Office Practice 2019

Reference: LS2019

Qualified candidates are hereby invited to apply for a one year Learnership in Computer Aided Drawing Office Practice.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Mathematics  with a minimum of 50% (Please note that Maths Literacy will not be accepted)
  • Technical Drawings with a minimum of 50%
  • Physical Science will be an advantage

Successful candidates need to be available from January 2019
Only candidates between the ages of 19 and 25 will be considered

Preference will be given to candidates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
